2006 Ben Gross Award Winner - Nicole Howe

The RYSA Board of Directors presented the Ben Gross Award to Salem High School Senior Nicole Howe.  The award recognized Ms. Howe's "love of the game, dedication and hard work towards the game and exhibition of sportsmanship". 
RYSA President Tim Norris commented that Ms. Howe has been a RYSA recreational and Select player, on both outdoor and indoor teams for 11 seasons.  He also noted that Howe has been a volunteer youth coach for five seasons, a youth referee, and participated in TOP Soccer events for disabled children. Ms. Howe will be attending Kennesaw State University as a freshman this fall working towards a degree in marketing.  She has been a member of the varsity soccer squad at Salem High School  for three years, one on the J.V. and also lettered in swimming for three years.


2005 Ben Gross Award

 

The Rockdale Youth Soccer Association's Board of Directors presented the Ben Gross Award to Erin Howe. The award recognized Ms. Howe's "love of the game, dedication and hard work towards the game and exhibition of sportsmanship".

Norris commented that Ms. Howe has been a RYSA recreational and Select player, on both outdoor and indoor teams for 10 seasons.  He also noted that Howe has been a youth referee, youth coach and participated in TOP Soccer events for disabled children.
Ms. Howe will be attending Georgia Tech as a freshman this fall working towards a degree in architecture. Ms. Howe has played varsity soccer at Salem High School for five years, was a starter for four years and served as team captain this season. She won this year's coveted Seminole Award for most valuable player, leading the team in assists, and was chosen the Defensive Player of the Year for the 2004 season.
