U8 Pre Academy Program

RYSA is excited to announce the start of a U8 Pre Academy program in the Spring of 2012. The RYSA U8 pre-academy program is geared towards boys and girls in the U7-U8 age group who have excelled at an early age in the game of soccer demonstrating good basic soccer skills. The focus of this group will be to bridge the gap between the RYSA recreational program and the academy program where sessions would be conducted in a more structured manner by RYSA Academy and Select coaching staff.
The players will train and play on selected Fridays and Sundays. Training, scrimmages within the pre academy program, and matches with outside clubs will be organized and implemented by a RYSA academy or select staff coach.

Congratulations to the U11 RYSA Lady Revs Blue

The U11 RYSA Lady Revs Blue Team made it to the Finals of the Cobb Classic, but the girls came up just a little short and were edged out of the winner's circle by the #6th ranked team from Tennessee. "That's the fifth straight championship game the Blue Team has been in," Head Coach Michelle Bird said. "That is unheard of. We pitched shut-outs all weekend in the Cobb tournament, but just couldn't get the edge in the championship game. We hope to be back on top at the RYSA tournament at the end of February!" The Cobb tournament was held February 11th-12th at Noonday Creek Park in Kennesaw.

The U11 RYSA Lady Revs Silver Team made it to the Finals of the Cobb Classic held at Noonday Creek Park in Kennesaw the weekend of February 11th-12th. The Lady Revs outscored their opponents 10-3 in the three games of bracket play, but the girls couldn't convert in the championship game. "We were very strong offensively all weekend, but we just couldn't find the net in that last game," Head Coach Michelle Bird said. "This tournament was a great way for us to get focused and work on some things in preparing for the RYSA tournament. We want to make a run for the championship at our home tournament, and we want to keep the RYSA Cup at RYSA!"

Brittany Gray Earns Offensive Player of the Year at LaGrange College

Brittany Gray, former RYSA player, was named LaGrange College's Offensive Player of the Year. Brittany is a sophomore at LaGrange. She led her team in assists (7) for the second consecutive season. Brittany tied for second on her team in scoring with 13 points and scored three goals. She also earned Great South Athletic Conference All-Academic honors. Congratulations, Brittany!

Congratulations to the U11 RYSA Lady Revs Blue - Nike Cup Champions

The U11 RYSA Lady Revs Blue closed the fall season a perfect 3-for-3 in tournament finals play with the latest victory coming in the Norcross Nike Cup. The Revs opened the tournament on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Florida’s Gulf Coast Texans. The Revs earned a 3-0 shutout against the Norcross Fury Blue. The girls completed division play Sunday morning with a 1-0 win over the NASA’s Academy Bulldogs to advance to the finals. The Lady Revs defeated the Norcross Fury Gold 1-0 to bring home the trophy. "The girls competed in 3 tournaments this fall and won all three," Coach Michelle Bird said. "We faced some great competition in each of the tournaments, and the girls earned every bit of those wins. I am proud of how they played together as a team and worked together as a team to bring the Nike Cup home to RYSA."
