Georgia Soccer Concussion Policy & Protocol

In light of recent legislation, Georgia Soccer has developed and adopted a Concussion Policy and Protocol that is now in effect for all Georgia Soccer sanctioned events. Developed by the Risk Management Committee, this procedure will aid parents and coaches in recognizing the signs of a potential concussion, and help players return to play only when it is safe to do so.

Please take some time to review the below policy, as well as the concussion fact sheet from the CDC.

Academy Parent Information & Education
The RYSA Academy Program operates as a member of Georgia Youth Soccer Association’s developmental soccer program for U9-U12 boys and girls. The idea behind Academy is to give young players advanced coaching and a higher level of competition, alongside other players and parents who want to see their child develop his/her potential in a fun soccer environment. Academy philosophy is playing to learn while minimizing the pressure of playing to win

The Academy program is an intermediate step to full sided select soccer which starts at the U13 year. All RYSA Academy coaches are licensed and experienced in preparing players of this age for the next step of select soccer. Training activities are devised to help each player improve technically (skills), tactically (as a member of a team), physically (coordination & fitness) and psychologically (mental development). The Academy focuses on the complete development of each player, and education of the parent on the philosophies of developmental soccer.

  PARENT EDUCATION MATERIAL

The RYSA coaching staff encourages you to read the following articles related to parent education.  We realize that parents play a vital role in maximizing a child’s development in the Academy program and youth sports in general.  It is important that you, as parents, are educated on the the philosophy behind our program and the proper type of support you can offer your child. Youth sports can teach the kids so many positive lessons while they are having fun and staying physically fit, and by working together we can make that happen.
Thank you for your support of RYSA Academy.
